Wallyt terms of use
On this page
These terms are an agreement between you and Leeman Group LLC, whose product studioLeeman Software makes Wallyt (“we”, “us”). They apply to the Wallyt app and Wallyt on the web. By using Wallyt you agree to them. The privacy policy explains what we do with your information.
In short: Wallyt is free. It keeps a shared record of who owes whom, but it doesn’t move money and it isn’t financial advice. Use it honestly, respect the people in your groups, and you can leave whenever you like.
Your account#
- You need to be at least 13 years old, or older where the law of your country requires it.
- Use an email address that’s yours. Anyone who can read that inbox can sign in as you, so keep it secure.
- You’re responsible for what happens in Wallyt under your account.
Groups are shared#
A group is a shared record. Everyone in it can see its expenses, payments, notes and history, and can add or change expenses. Its owner and admins can also add and remove people. Only share a group’s invite link with people you want in it.
When you add someone to a group, by name or from your contacts, only add people you actually share costs with, and only use details they’d expect you to share with the group.
Wallyt doesn’t move money#
Wallyt records what people say they spent and owe. It doesn’t hold, send or receive money, and we’re not part of any debt or payment between the people in a group. Balances are only as right as the expenses entered, so check them before you pay. Exchange rates come from public sources and can differ from the rate your bank or card gave you. Nothing in Wallyt is financial, tax or legal advice.
Use it fairly#
Don’t use Wallyt to:
- break the law, or help anyone else to;
- harass, threaten or impersonate anyone, or post content that does;
- add people or their details to a group without a good reason to;
- try to get into groups or accounts that aren’t yours, guess invite links, or test, disrupt or overload our servers;
- copy, scrape or resell Wallyt or its data, or build a competing service from it.
What you add stays yours#
You own the expenses, notes, names and photos you add. You let us store them, process them and show them to the people in your groups, only so that Wallyt can work. You can export a group’s expenses at any time.
Changes to Wallyt#
Wallyt is free. We keep improving it, which means features can change or be removed. If we ever decide to close Wallyt, we’ll tell you ahead of time, by email or in the app, so you can export your groups first.
Ending your use#
You can stop using Wallyt at any time, and delete your account whenever you like. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other people at risk. If we do, we’ll tell you why unless the law or someone’s safety stops us.
No guarantees#
We work hard to keep Wallyt accurate and available, but it’s provided as it is, without promises that it will always be available, free of mistakes, or right for your purposes. As far as the law allows, Leeman Group LLC isn’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for money owed between the people in a group. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law that can’t be limited by agreement.
Changes to these terms#
If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top. If a change matters, we’ll let you know by email or in Wallyt before it takes effect. Using Wallyt after that means you accept the new terms.
